Epoxy vs. No Epoxy

A picture speaks a thousand words. Have you ever wondered what epoxy means when creating a custom soft enamel pin? Some may call it a dome, or resin coating, but they all refer to the same thing. This photo shows the differences between a pin with epoxy vs a pin without epoxy. You will notice that the pin on the top right has an epoxy dome on top of the colored enamel, giving the pin a smooth coat and glossy shine. The pin pictured on the bottom left shows the same pin without the epoxy dome allowing the relief to be seen and felt, which gives it an entirely different effect. It really is a matter of preference, and what you are trying to achieve with your design. Hard enamel and printed pins offer even more options. Our pin design experts are always here to help you make the right decision to achieve your goals.
